The Evergreen was recognized on Thursday afternoon at the Annual Dallas Morning News Journalism Day for its work during the 2011-12 school year.

The Evergreen was recognized on Thursday afternoon at the Annual Dallas Morning News Journalism Day for its work during the 2011-12 school year.
 
Jordan Rudner and Laura Arnold captured first-place honors for their work in News Reporting and Short Feature, respectively. In addition, Joseph Middleman and Lizzy D'Apice received honorable mention laurels for Sports Reporting. Grace Park also earned honorable mention recognition for Review and Graphics Portfolio while Rudner was cited with honorable mention honors for Column Portfolio.
