|  | The Greenhill Bands (5th-12th grade) serve the school and community in a variety of functions. The band program's primary focus is concert band literature, but it also includes jazz band, jazz combo, brass choir, woodwind choir, percussion ensemble, and pep band. The bands perform several concerts on campus including the POPS concert, the Winter and Spring Concerts, and Jazz Night @ Greenhill. Solo and ensemble festival, ATSSB all-region, TPSMEA Jazz Contest, ISAS Fine Arts Festival, all-school concerts at Christmas, Grandparent’s Day, community service concerts, TPSMEA All-State Band, Commencement, and other special events on and off campus keep the band members busy throughout the year.
DIRECTORS Mr. Brian Donnell is in his 23rd year as director of the Greenhill Bands. His primary instrument is trumpet and he has a BM from the University of North Texas and a MLA from SMU. Hobbies include woodworking, reading, and rooting for the 2005 NL Champion Houston Astros. His favorite musician is Miles Davis.
Mrs. Cheryl Hopkins is in her 3rd year as the assistant director of the Greenhill middle school bands, and has taught for 29 years in several Texas schools. Her primary instrument is flute and she has a BA from Louisiana Tech. Hobbies include reading, swimming, vacationing and movies. Her favorite musician is Beethoven. |

 | Private Lesson Teachers The following lesson teachers are available for private lessons at Greenhill. Contact the private lesson teacher directly to set up a time. Lessons are usually 30 minutes each, 1 lesson per week. Middle School students must begin their lessons after the school day. Upper School students are able to take during the school day. YOU MAY BEGIN LESSONS AT ANY TIME!!

A Student Recital Form must be filled out and signed by your private teacher to be eligible to perform on one of the recitals.
Instrument Repair If you are looking for a great place to have your child's instrument repaired, overhauled, or just plain checked out, you might want to try David's Band Instrument Repair. David Schottle is the repairman and he does great work at a very reasonable price. He'll inspect the instrument at no cost, pull stuck mouthpieces at no cost, and does any type of instrument repair. He repairs Greenhill's instruments and we highly recommend him. He is located in downtown Carrollton at 1215 South Broadway Street, two blocks south of Beltline and one block east of I 35.
