Hornet Sports Report - January 3, 2017

Girls Basketball
The Greenhill girls basketball team improved to 16-6 overall on the season after posting a 4-1 record, including a tournament championship, during the winter holiday break.
 
The Hornets opened up action with a 73-48 victory at home over Dallas Christian School. Prior to the New Year, the Hornets traveled to Austin for the St. Michael's Basketball Tournament where they came away with a tournament title. The Hornets defeated Cornerstone Christian School (75-29) and Providence Catholic School (73-22) on Thursday. On the final day of action, the Hornets defeated Trinity Christian Academy (50-34) and St. Michael's Catholic Academy (68-41).
 
Boys Basketball
The Greenhill boys basketball team improved to 19-6 overall after collecting a 5-2 record over the winter holiday break.
 
The Hornets defeated North Texas High School on December 16th by a 68-37 decision followed by a 70-45 victory over Prince of Peace Christian School on December 20th.
 
The Hornets participated in the 77th Annual Dallas ISD/Coca-Cola Invitational where they fell in the finals of the consolation bracket. The Hornets opened up with a 78-67 setback to Lancaster High School then defeated W.T. White High School, 62-59, on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Hornets collected victories over Sachse High School (61-49) and West Mesquite High School (73-70). The Hornets suffered a 68-65 setback to Australia's Newington College in the finals of the consolation bracket.
