MS Science Teacher Selected to Perot Museum's STEM Institute

Greenhill Middle School Science teacher Megan Van Wart has been selected to attend the Perot Museum's Kosmos Energy STEM Teacher Institute this upcoming summer as part of the Advanced Academy.With her selection, Van Wart will attend a weeklong summer academy as well as eight additional weekend workshops throughou the school year. The Workshops will be either be Museum-based or will be offered in partnership with one of their informal educational partners. Van Wart will have the opportunity to collaborate with Museum educators and will receive classroom curriculum and loan kits of materials for her classroom.The Kosmos Energy STEM Teacher Institute is organized into four academies: Pre-serve, Novice, Advanced and Mentor. The program was designed to expand development opportunities for a wider audience, now spanning Kindergarten - 12th grade and includes highly interactive TEKS-aligned activities that can be easily reproduced in the classroom. In addition, the program will equip teachers with the tools and skills to ignite student enthusiasm for science.
