Greenhill Debate Team Earns Third Consecutive State Title

The Greenhill Debate Team captured its third consecutive Texas Forensic Association State Tournament championship in El Paso during Spring Break.Junior Bennett Eckert became the first student in the 40-plus year history of the Texas Forensic Association State Tournament to captured back-to-back titles as he claimed the Lincoln Douglas Debate crown. In addition, senior Mitali Mathur earned a berth in the semifinals for the second consecutive year while junior Varad Agarwala notched a spot in the double octosfinals. In Policy Debate, senior Sohum Daftary and sophomore Grace Kuang both reached the quarterfinals.Over this past weekend, senior Mitali Mathur became only one of five students in the country to earned a spot on the USA Debate Team, which will compete at the World Championships in Singapore this upcoming summer.
