Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, Greenhill will choose from three options:
• Close school for the day
• Delay the opening of school for two hours
• Remain open

Safety is our main concern in deciding whether school opens during inclement weather. It is impossible to know the road conditions in all areas of the Metroplex, and we urge you to use your own judgment in deciding whether or not your child should go to school if driving seems unsafe.

A closed school day applies to all students, teachers and employees, including Extended Day and Child Development Center. In regards to early closings, this will be handled on a case-by-case basis for Extended Day. In the event that we decide to close school or delay the opening, we will alert the below television and radion stations to broadcast our decision early in the morning. In addition, we will post an emergency bulletin on the front page of the website.

BrightArrow: Text Alert System

Greenhill School uses BrightArrow, an emergency alert/notification system, to send out SMS text alerts in critical or urgent situations, such as inclement weather or information on campus emergencies. For each household, we can store up to two cell phones numbers that will receive SMS text messages from Greenhill. If you any have questions or issues, please contact the Help Desk at (972) 628-5999.
