Greenhill Junior Earns Top Private School Basketball Honor

Greenhill junior Ellen Margaret Andrews was selected as the Large Private School Player of the Year as voted by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC).
 
Considered one of the most dominant players in the state, Andrews averaged 34.0 points, 15.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game during the 2015-16 en route to leading the Hornets to a 24-6 overall record. A three-time All-Southwest Preparatory Conference selection, Andrews became the first player in Greenhill history to score of 1,000 points in a season and became the first girls player to eclipse the 2,000-point mark for her career.
 
Andrews was also selected to the Texas All-State Team for the second straight season. In addition, the Greenhill junior earned Most Valuable Player honors at the Houston Christian Tournament and was selected to the all-tournament teams at the Bishop Lynch Tournament and Fort Worth Nolan Tournament.
 
Andrews becomes the third straight Greenhill student-athlete to earn this honors along with Hayley Isenberg '15, who won the award in 2014 and 2015.
