Hornet Sports Report - October 5, 2015

Girls Volleyball
The Greenhill girls volleyball team kicked off the 2015 portion of its SPC Counter schedule in grand fashion as the Hornets defeated Holland Hall and Casady School this past weekend.
 
On Friday evening, the Hornets notched a 3-0 victory (25-17, 25-14, 25-13) over Holland Hall. Danielle Milner led the Hornets with 11 kills, five digs, three assists and one service ace. Ellen Margaret Andrews notched seven digs, five kills, five assists and a career-high six service aces.
 
Michal Mathis posted six digs, four kills and three service aces while Jessica Pugh led the Hornets with nine digs to go along with four kills and two service aces. Allie Frymire dished out a match-high 10 assists to go along with three digs and one kill.
 
The Hornets came back on Saturday morning to blank Casady School by a 3-0 count (25-10, 25-4, 25-8). Andrews led the Hornets with a double-double following a 15-dig, 11-kill performance while Milner added a season-high 10 assists to go along with eight kills and four service aces. Ashley Isenberg posted a season-high five kills to go along with three digs while Frymire dished out 17 assists and four digs in the contest.
 
The Hornets currently stand at 24-6 overall and 2-0 in SPC Counter action.
 
Field Hockey
The Greenhill field hockey team opened up SPC Counter action with a split as the Hornets defeated Holland Hall, 2-0, on Friday then suffered a 2-1 setback to Casady School on Saturday. The Hornets are currently 2-4 on the 2015 season, including 1-1 in SPC Counter action.
 
Cross Country | TEAM RESULTS
The Greenhill boys cross country team finished 29th overall while the girls team recorded a 31st-place showing at the Chili Pepper Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas on Saturday morning.
 
Daniel Brickman led the boys cross country team - who finished 29th out of 84 teams - with a personal-best time of 16:29 en route to finishing 68th overall. Matthew Zweig and Jacob Shepherd each posted personal-best times of 17:08 and 17:20, respectively, to finish 150th and 192nd overall. Sam Grimsley recorded a personal-best time of 17:36 while finishing 233rd, and Eli Krakow finished 243rd with a time of 17:42.
 
Madison Cook led the girls cross country team - who finished 37th out of 71 teams - with a 119th-place finish and a time of 20:24. Ariana Luterman recorded a time of 20:38 en route to finishing 140th overall while Cameron Crates posted a time of 21:10 while finishing 181st overall. Kyra Moran notched a personal-best time of 21:45 to finish 242nd, and Ariana Carr finished 284th overall with a personal-best time of 22:13.
 
Boys Volleyball
The Greenhill boys volleyball team improved to 14-5 overall, including 2-0 in SPC Counter action, following a 3-1 victory (23-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-23) over Casady School on Saturday morning.
