Former Greenhill Standout Earns Rugby All-American Honors

Former Greenhill standout Chelsey Sveinsson `11 was selected to the USA Rugby Women's Collegiate All-American Team for the first time in her career.Sveinsson - a forward - was the lone member of the Stanford University women's rugby team to earn All-American honors this past season. During the 2014-15 season, the Cardinal was one of the top teams in the nation where they finished fifth at the USA Rugby's 7's National Championship.At Greenhill, Sveinsson was one of the most decorated student-athletes in school history. The former Hornet was a three-time Gatorade Texas Runner of the Year and was selected as the 2010 Texas Track & Field Coaches Association Female Athlete of the Year. In 2008, Sveinsson claimed the 2008 NIKE Cross National individual title and was the national mile- and two-mile champion in 2009.
