Hornet Sports Report - August 31, 2015

Girls Volleyball
The Greenhill girls volleyball team finished third overall this past weekend at the Episcopal High School Tournament in Houston. The Hornets improved their overall record to 12-4 on the 2015 season.
 
The Hornets suffered their first loss of the tournament in the semifinals after dropping a 2-0 decision (25-20, 25-21) decision to Houston Christian School. Ellen Margaret Andrews led the Hornets with eight kills to go along with four digs while Michal Mathis notched six kills and five digs. Allie Frymire dished out a team-high 15 assists while Danielle Milner notched five kills and five digs.
 
In their final match of the tournament, the Hornets recorded a 2-0 victory (25-21, 26-24) over Houston H.S.A.A. to secure bronze medal honors. Milner and Andrews each posted a team-high seven kills while Frymire dished out 17 assists to lead the Hornets.
 
Field Hockey
The Greenhill field hockey team suffered a 4-1 setback on the road at Trinity Valley School on Friday afternoon in its season opener.
 
Boys Volleyball
The Greenhill boys volleyball team upped its winning streak to seven matches following a pair of shutouts over the weekend in Fort Worth.
 
The Hornets opened up action with a 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-17, 25-22) over St. John's School before defeating the host-program Fort Worth Country Day in straight sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-21). The Hornets now stand at 7-1 overall on the 2015 season.
