Greenhill School Honors Founders’ Daughter Molly Fulton Seeligson ’60 with Distinguished Alumni Award

The Greenhill School Alumni Association has named Molly Fulton Seeligson, Class of 1960, as the 2015 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award for her lifelong commitment to Greenhill School and her dedication to improving the lives of others through education. The award is designed to honor a graduate whose outstanding character, accomplishments, and service embody the characteristics and spirit of Greenhill’s mission of service and leadership in our diverse global society.

Molly was one of the original 62 Greenhill students when her parents, Bernard and Helen Fulton, founded the school. To say she was an overachiever would be an understatement. As a student, she was deeply involved in the Greenhill community – she served as head cheerleader, Homecoming queen, and joined myriad clubs, including riding club, bridge club, glee club, student council, and even the youth council for traffic safety.

During her eighth-grade year, Molly was the first Greenhill student to be honored with the Ronnie Freeman award. In Upper School, she earned DeLay Service to Greenhill award, the Fulton award, and was Valedictorian her senior year.

After graduating from Greenhill, Molly received a bachelor’s degree in math from Southern Methodist University and completed graduate courses in statistics and probability. She is certified in five areas of teaching in secondary education.

She led The Clear Spring School in Eureka Springs, Arkansas for over 20 years, where she remains a board member. She and her husband, John, returned to Dallas so that their son, Michael, Greenhill alumnus from the class of 2002, could attend her alma mater. While in Dallas, she served as Head of School for six years at The Fulton School which was named for her father and continues to serve on the Fulton Board. Molly now serves as Director of The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Since returning to Dallas, she has been an active member of the Greenhill community, volunteering while her son attended the school and serving on the Board of Trustees for seven years. This May, the board voted unanimously to bestow her with the unique honor of Lifetime Trustee, only the third person in the School’s history to receive this distinction.

Molly was recognized at Greenhill’s 65th annual commencement ceremony at the Meyerson Symphony Center on June 1, 2015. She celebrated with her classmates and teachers at a reception following the graduation.
