Hornet Sports Report - October 20, 2014

Boys Volleyball
The Greenhill boys volleyball team notched a straight-set victory (25-21, 25-11, 25-18) over Fort Worth Country Day on Friday afternoon and improved its overall record to 17-10, including 3-2 in SPC Counter action.
 
Grayson Taylor led the Hornets with a match-high 35 assists while Chandler Notley chipped in with nine kills. Ryan Diebner finished with a match-high 21 digs, and Jackson Rothbart notched seven kills. Hartley McGuire and Rishi Vas each posted six kills for the Hornets.
 
Cross Country
The Greenhill girls cross country team recorded a first-place showing at the SPC North Zone Meet after finishing with 32 points while the boys cross country team placed fourth overall on Friday.
 
Cameron Crates placed second overall in the 3.1-mile race after finishing with a time of 20:37 while Ariana Luterman notched a third-place showing with a time of 21:01. Madison Cook finished 10th overall with a time of 22:19, and Chelsea Puckett placed 12th overall with a time of 22:42. Abby Grindstaff crossed the end line at 22:44 en route to finishing 13th overall.
 
The boys cross country team finished fourth overall with a total of 94 points. Paulo Springer recorded a team-best time of 18:11 en route to finishing 11th overall. Cole Forson finished 17th overall with a time of 18:22, and Daniel Brickman finished 20th overall with a time of 18:27. Griffin Olesky and Hudson Fernandes recorded times of 18:35 and 18:54 en route to finishing 21st and 25th overall.
