Hornet Sports Report - September 29, 2014

Football
Junior Ryan Bradberry rushed for 186 yards and scored four touchdowns en route to leading the Hornets to a 36-28 victory over Oakridge School on Friday evening.
 
Bradberry scored on touchdown runs of 18, 38 and 49 yards and also caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Cole Cramer. The Hornets overcame a 21-7 deficit and outscored Oakridge School by a 29-7 margin over the final 2 1/2 quarters of action.
 
Cramer connected on 7-of-13 passes for 79 yards, including two touchdowns. The Greenhill quarterback's first touchdown pass was a 33-yard throw to Bryson Houston to put the Hornets up 7-0. Houston caught three passes for 62 yards in the contest.
 
The Hornets now stand at 2-3 overall, including 1-2 in SPC Counter action.
 
Boys Volleyball
The Greenhill boys volleyball team opened up action in SPC Counter matches with a dominating 3-0 victory (25-13, 25-8, 25-11) over Fort Worth Country Day on Friday evening. With the victory, the Hornets improved to 14-8 overall and 1-0 in conference matches.
 
Chandler Notley led the Hornets with 14 kills to go along with seven digs and 1.5 block while Grayson Taylor dished out a match-high 25 assists while collecting five digs and two service aces. Ryan Diebner notched a team-high nine digs, and Jackson Rothbart recorded five digs, four kills and four service aces for the Hornets.
 
Cross Country
The Greenhill girls cross country team posted a third-place showing while the boys' program finished sixth overall at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday morning in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
 
The girls cross country team finished third out of 19 teams after recording a score of 112 points. Cameron Crates was the Hornets' top runner with a time of 20:51 en route to finishing 10th overall. Ariana Luterman finished 15th overall with a time of 21:07 while Madison Cook was 23rd overall with a time of 22:29. Chandler Crates and Abby Grindstaff finished 37th and 38th overall with times of 23:10 and 23:12, respectively.
 
The boys cross country team finished sixth out of 13 teams following a score of 148 points. Hudson Fernandes finished 25th overall with a time of 18:54 to lead the Hornets. Paulo Springer and Liam Duggan finished 28th and 30th overall with times of 19:07 and 19:18, respectively. Sam Grimsley finished 34th overall with a time of 19:23 while teammate Griffin Olesky finished 35th overall with a time of 19:24.
 
Field Hockey
The Greenhill field hockey team battled St. John's School to a 2-2 on Saturday morning in non-conference action. The Hornets now stand at 7-1-2 overall on the 2014 fall campaign.
