Hall Appointed to Director of Equity and Inclusion

Greenhill Upper School Dean of Students Art Hall has accepted the appointment of Director of Equity and Inclusion, effective July 1.
Some of you may note that the position title has been changed from Director of Multicultural Programs. This change is due to information received from the Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism (AIM) completed last year and to reflect more accurately the current nature of the position. Art will be able to put his energy, vision and leadership to work to enhance our efforts at creating a more equitable and inclusive community.
Since his arrival at Greenhill in 1999, Art has been a force in leading and growing our diversity efforts. As an Upper School coordinator, he was one of the creators of The Union, the African American Affinity Group for Upper School boys, a successful effort which has proven to be a model for other schools.
In addition, in his current role as Dean of Students, he has been a continual source of support and advocacy for all students. Art has also developed elective courses and currently teaches trimester electives in African American Literature, African American History and History of China (post World War II). Outside of Greenhill, Art has presented at the NAIS People of Color Conference and he currently serves as a teacher and college counselor for the Bickel and Brewer Future Leaders Program.
