Fine Arts Awards Given to Multiple Upper Schoolers

Many Upper School students have recently received fine arts awards from the NFAA's YoungArts Contest and Drexel University's Photography Contest.

YoungArts Contest

Several Visual, 3D and Performing Artists received awards in this year’s YoungArts contest, the core program of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA). The program recognizes and rewards exceptional student artists from across the country in each of nine fields: cinematic arts, dance, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice and writing.

The following awards are out of a possible 5,000 applicants from across the US. These students will now join the ranks of YoungArts alumni.

Honorable Mention goes to senior Bronsin Ablon for his work in 3D. There were only 40 Honorable Mention awards.

A Merit Award goes to senior Daniel Matyas and recent graduate Margot Beauchamp ’11 for their portfolios in Photography. There were 33 Merit Awards.

A Merit Award goes to senior Russell Houston for Music; Russell was one of only 27 student musicians to receive this award.

Please congratulate these students for this outstanding achievement!
