Tyler Chapin Rowland

A Memorial Service and reception will be held on March 4, 2012 at 5:30pm in the Montgomery Library of Greenhill School, located at 4141 Spring Valley Road, Addison, Texas 75001.

Tyler Chapin Rowland, age 22, departed this earth February 1st to continue his Odyssey towards a higher plane. He was a scholar, classicist, beloved brother, and devoted son. He was born November 17, 1989, in Dallas, Texas. Tyler was a 2008 graduate of Greenhill School in Addison, Texas and was in his 4th year of college at Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass. He will receive his BA degree posthumous in May. He was to begin his postgraduate studies to work towards his Ph.D in the fall. Sadly, he lost his ongoing struggle with a seizure disorder. Described as brilliant, gregarious, and unfailingly polite, he had a contagious laugh and unique sense of humor. When not at school in his beloved Pioneer Valley, he lived at home with his sister, Lesley Rowland, and mother, Patti Wright Rowland, of Farmers Branch, Texas. He is also survived by his brothers, Mark Rowland of Brockport, N.Y., Mike Rowland of Saegertown, PA, nieces, Allison and Meghan Rowland of Brockport, N.Y.; grandparents, Glade and Donna Wright of Edinboro, Pa.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
