Alum wins Last Comic Standing
by Erin Goldman,
Managing Editor
Iliza Shlesinger ’01 was
named NBC’s Last Comic Standing 6 winner on Aug. 7. 2008.
After graduating from Emerson College, Iliza moved to Los
Angeles, California and pursued her career for three years before
auditioning for Last Comic Standing.
Iliza nearly missed her
preliminary audition due to entertaining the troops overseas.
She returned back to the United
States in time for the San Francisco auditions on Feb.
29 where she, along with future finalist Jeff Dye, advanced to the semi-finals. "I
just set small goals for myself," she said. "Each time more and
more people are eliminated, it’s a madhouse all day and you have
to stick around and wait to perform—it’s nerve wracking because
you want to do a great joke but you aren’t sure if you should
save it for if you get further in the competition."read more |
